ABOUT ME
Hi my name is Danielle and I am a licensed speech language pathologist in New Mexico and I am also a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association as well as the American Cleft Palate Association. I graduated with my master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2013 from Eastern New Mexico University. My professional career includes over 10 years working at a level 1 trauma hospital, specifically in the pediatric outpatient setting. I have extensive experience working with infants with feeding and swallowing disorders, performing both clinical "bedside" and diagnostic swallowing studies (Videofluorscopic Swallow Study; Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing, aka FEES) Within the infant age group, a few of my specilizations include feeding difficulties related to cleft lip and palate; premature birth; cerebral palsy; trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome); intrauterine drug exposure; tongue tie; larynomalacia; and aerodigestive disorders. I have experience working in the public schools as well as in the early intervention setting. I feel most comfortable treating feeding and swallowing disorders; articulation difficulties; voice disorders; speech and language disorders. I love and enjoy creating individualized therapy experiences for each of my clients, no matter the level of complexity, but I also promise to be honest with what I am comfortable treating. If I don't feel I am the most specialized or best fit for your child's needs, I will help you find someone who is. I also offer sessions that are just focused on parent education and coaching, which aims to guide parents on how they can facilitate speech and language skills within their child's natural routines.
